چکیده

The present study aimed at investigating scientific irrigation scheduling (SIS) for the sustainable production of olive groves. SIS allows farmers to schedule water rotation in their fields abate crop stress and maximize yields, which could be achieved through precise monitoring soil moisture. For this purpose, used three kinds moisture sensors, including tensiometer irrometer gypsum blocks measurement These sensors were calibrated by performing experiments field laboratory Barani Agricultural Research Institute, Chakwal 2018 2019. calibration curves obtained gravimetric analysis 0.3 0.6 m depths, thereby equations developed using regression analysis. coefficient determination (R2) depth tensiometer, irrometer, was found equal 0.98, 0.98; 0.75, 0.89; 0.82, 0.95, respectively. After that, a drip system installed with groves as compared conventional farmer practice, profiles these investigate SIS. results showed that sensor performed expected contributed savings between 17% 25% 2019, respectively, reducing number irrigations toother practices. Additionally, yield efficiencies 8% 9%were observed outcome suggests an effective method providing enhancing efficiency.

Evaluation of the Contamination by Herbicides in Olive Groves

The application of phytosanitary products on the ground is one of the main employed procedures to solve the problems of plagues and diseases in olive groves. As a result, there is an increasing unease related to the possible presence of residues from these products in the olive-derived foods. Recent studies have shown that these residues can be found in olives and olive oil (mainly insecticides...

Toward balanced and sustainable job scheduling for production supercomputers

Job scheduling on production supercomputers is complicated by diverse demands of system administrators and amorphous characteristics of workloads. Specifically, various scheduling goals such as queuing efficiency and system utilization are usually conflicting and thus need to be balanced. Also, changing workload characteristics often impact the effectiveness of the deployed scheduling policies....

Metarhizium brunneum (Ascomycota; Hypocreales) Treatments Targeting Olive Fly in the Soil for Sustainable Crop Production

Soil treatments with Metarhizium brunneum EAMa 01/58-Su strain conducted in both Northern and Southern Spain reduced the olive fly (Bactrocera oleae) population density emerging from the soil during spring up to 70% in treated plots compared with controls. A model to determine the influence of rainfall on the conidial wash into different soil types was developed, with most of the conidia retain...

Influence of Irrigation Scheduling on Fruit Quality of Young Potted ‘Manzanilla de Sevilla’ Olive Trees

The aim of this work was to analyse the influence of soil water content and distribution on fruit quality in 5-year-old ‘Manzanilla de Sevilla’ olive trees in pots subjected to different irrigation treatments for 3 years (2007-2009). The experiment was carried out near Seville, in southwest Spain. Four water treatments were considered: 1) T0, trees were under dry farming conditions except for s...
